Isomalt is a sugar substitute, without an aftertaste, made from beets.
Cheese, milk powders, desserts, breakfast cereals, pasta, noodles, seasonings, condiments, beverages, ice cream, jam, baked goods. Also in low-calorie and diabetic foods.
Possible Health Effects
Consuming foods that contain Isomalt in excess can lead to upset stomach, bloating and gas. Some people report these symptoms after minimal amounts are ingested.
