Food-grade polydimethylsiloxane is a silicone chemical used as an anti-foaming agent in many types of processed foods. It is added to food during the production process. It can also be added to animal feed and used for the same reasons.
PDMS is an ingredient in Silly Putty and was previously used often in breast implants, although this usage has decreased in recent years because of safety concerns.
Candy, confectionery, alcoholic beverages, fruit spreads, margarin, soups, canned fruits and vegetables, milk powder, chewing gum, fruit-based desserts, McDonald's Chicken McNuggets and Wendy's French fries.
