Also called Niacin, Vitamin B3 is one of eight B Vitamins. All B vitamins help convert food into fuel to produce energy. An essential vitamin required for metabolic energy production and maintenance of the central nervous system. RDI is 16 mg/day for adult males and 14 mg/day for adult females. Additional Information

Niacin deficiency is known as pellagra which is characterized by diarrhea, dermatitis, dementia, thickening of the skin, delirium and many other psychiatric symptoms. Common among cultures that rely on corn as the staple starch as well as in alcoholics.
